Wrooks: Someone mentioned something about the fiasco and was hoping that valve responded by making it into a season like football, basketball or baseball.
Enhander: Personally, my take on that is that there is no need for e-sports to emulate real life sports, both in game, and in the meta game. It might be nice that companies are trying to make e-sports bigger, but there is no need to pander to a group that has little interest in e-sports. To me it’s a bit annoying, like when the World Cup comes about and suddenly every news article is talking about things that I really don’t care about. I don’t think we need to force e-sports into the world so aggressively, but rather let it run its course and go where it wants.
Wrooks: Have you seen this video about the similarities?:
Enhander: I’ve watched a good portion of it now. I think the point is fine, but I still think trying to force recognition on ESPN was a weird move, but nonetheless it is definitely a growing spectator sport.
Wrooks: Yea I think Beary showed me that video, cool dude. Anyway, you have any final things to say before we call it a noon?
Enhander: Thanks to you for hosting this interview, and to the hero idea suggestors out there, keep going at it. I think IF is starting to take a lot more time looking at his forums, and with the advent of PD Reborn our ideas may very well become a hero like Puck was.
Wrooks: Well its been alot of questions, lets end with a thank you for letting me interview you.
Enhander: No problem 🙂
